Hello, I'm Lorena!
Thank you for stopping by. I started Sonder and Holliday along with my close friend, Victoria Cuesta, in 2015. After years of traveling the world as an International Steel Trader and meeting artisans at markets I frequented when I shopped during my free time on business trips, I decided to launch a brand with products that told the story about the the people who made them.
After my first visit to Ghana in 2018, our entire business model changed...
.... and my focus shifted from profits to people.
My Story
When I understood that we had a unique opportunity to build a luxury brand while uplifting entire communities of vulnerable people, I knew exactly what I had to do. I felt compelled to figure out a way to develop a business model that was profitable, valuable, and lucrative while ensuring the betterment of the lives of those who helped build it.
